This 7-day safari connects Kenya’s most iconic parks in one seamless adventure from the rugged north to the rolling plains of the south. Begin among Samburu’s striking arid landscapes, home to rare northern species found nowhere else. Continue to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a pioneer of wildlife protection where you’ll encounter rhinos and rescued chimpanzees up close. Then journey to the Great Rift Valley’s Lake Nakuru, famous for its rhino sanctuary and shimmering pink flamingos. Finally, end in the legendary Maasai Mara, where endless savannahs and the Big Five bring every safari dream to life.
Each day blends breathtaking wildlife encounters, scenic drives, and a taste of Kenya’s diverse cultures. This itinerary delivers the full safari experience — raw nature, conservation in action, and unforgettable moments from sunrise to sunset.
Kick off your adventure bright and early from Nairobi, driving north through the dramatic landscapes of central Kenya. Arrive at Samburu National Reserve by midday and settle into your lodge or camp overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River. Afternoon game drive: Spot the Samburu Special Five — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. Overnight: Samburu
A full day of exploration in the wild north. Early morning and evening drives reveal elephants, lions, and graceful leopards among acacia woodlands. In between, relax by the pool or enjoy a guided nature walk. Optional: Visit a Samburu village to learn about their semi-nomadic culture. Overnight: Samburu
After breakfast, drive to Ol Pejeta, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon drive: Visit the endangered species enclosure (home to the last northern white rhinos) and meet the chimpanzees at Sweetwaters Sanctuary. This conservancy is Kenya’s model for blending luxury, wildlife, and conservation. Overnight: Ol Pejeta.
After a sunrise drive, head south via Nyahururu Falls toward Lake Nakuru. Afternoon game drive: Keep your camera ready for rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and if the lake’s water levels cooperate, flocks of pink flamingos. Overnight: Nakuru
Depart after breakfast for the crown jewel — Maasai Mara. Arrive by early afternoon and dive straight into the first of many game drives. The Mara’s rolling plains are alive with wildebeest, big cats, and drama. Overnight: Maasai Mara.
An entire day dedicated to exploring the Mara’s endless savannahs. Chase sunrise with lions, track elephants, and maybe spot a cheetah on the hunt. Picnic lunch by the Mara River — because why not eat with hippos nearby? Optional: Balloon safari at dawn (extra cost but worth every cent). Overnight: Maasai Mara.
Enjoy a final morning drive before heading back to Nairobi. Relive the week’s wild moments and probably start planning your next trip before you even reach the city.
